API Inflatable Stretcher

The all purpose inflatable (API) stretcher is a revolutionary rescue stretcher designed to provide a safe casualty handling solution for any emergency rescue scenario.

Despite its robust construction, the API Stretcher is exceptionally lightweight and easy for one person to carry, making it ideal for casualty recovery in tight or difficult to reach spots. When deflated, the API Stretcher is compact to store and easily stowed on a vehicle, boat, helicopter or aircraft.

The API stretcher can be inflated using an air cylinder, bellows, or a compressor and takes only minutes to deploy. Once a casualty is in place on the inflatable stretcher it can be easily dragged or tobogganed over any terrain, including snow, sand, marsh and mudflats. It can also be lifted by helicopter, hauled in the horizontal or vertical plane, and rigged to a 'Breeches Bouy' ship-to-shore transit system.

The All Purpose Inflatable Stretcher can be supplied with an optional factory-fitted thermal lined canopy to provide all round protection to exposure on land or sea, and in the air. The canopy has an inbuilt face visor and a two way zip to provide quick access to the casualty.

The API rescue stretcher has undergone extensive trials by Mountain Rescue Teams which have proven it offers maximum mobility with minimum physical effort and manpower. It is used extensively in Urban Search and Rescue and is also suitable for rescue in water, ice, caves, potholes and airborne.
